The 5th Annual Literacy Impact Summit is a two-day gathering designed to bring together educators, literacy leaders, and community partners from across regions to celebrate impact, deepen practice, and strengthen our shared commitment to building the love of reading.
Goals of the Summit
The goals of the Literacy Impact Summit is to:
- Celebrate the collective impact of educators and partners
- Share best practices grounded in real classroom and community experiences
- Inspire renewed commitment to literacy access and joyful reading
- Equip attendees with practical strategies, resources, and connections they can immediately take back to their schools and communities
Day 1 — Summit Agenda Overview
Wednesday, July 8 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Day 1 of the Literacy Impact Summit sets the tone for connection, inspiration, and meaningful learning. The day opens with a warm welcome and grounding vision from Chris McGilvery, followed by an energizing keynote from award-winning artist and literacy advocate Lucky Diaz, who brings storytelling, culture, and joy to the power of reading.
Throughout the day, participants will engage in four interactive breakout sessions designed to share best practices, elevate classroom and community literacy work, and spark new ideas educators can take back to their campuses. Midday features a Lunch & Learn with the keynote speaker (ticketed), offering a more intimate space for conversation, reflection, and inspiration.
The day concludes with guided reflection and closing moments to help attendees synthesize learning, celebrate impact, and prepare for continued connection on Day 2.

Day 2 — Summit Farewell & Celebration
Thursday, July 9 | Morning Program (Dress comfortably)
Day 2 of the Literacy Impact Summit is designed as a meaningful and energizing close—centered on gratitude, reflection, and celebration of collective impact. The morning begins with farewell coffee and connection, giving attendees space to reconnect, reflect, and ease into the final day together.
The program continues with a warm welcome, followed by Welcome Book Giveaway(s) that highlight TLRN’s commitment to expanding access to books and joyful reading experiences. A guided mindfulness activity invites participants to pause, reflect, and ground themselves in purpose before moving into celebration.
The summit concludes with Yearly Highlights, honoring milestones, stories, and impact from across regions, and a Closing Keynote that sends participants off inspired, affirmed, and ready to continue building the love of reading in their schools and communities.
